Blow to Brisbane manufacturing as Dulux cuts 60 jobs

Another 60 jobs will be lost from the manufacturing industry in Brisbane as Dulux paints announced that it is relocating part of its operations to Victoria. Queensland paramedics compete on world stage

Four Queensland ambulance officers have just returned from taking part in the Emergency Services (JEMS) Games in Baltimore, USA. Simon Houstoun, Lawrence Odlin, Kroy Day and Casey James were invited to take part in the world paramedic competition after being involved in the Ferno Australia Paramedic Simulation Challenge last year.   Continue reading

United Voice joins March 4 Rights

Workers turned out in force in Brisbane to march for their rights as part of a nationwide protest. Events were held right across the country on March 4 in opposition to Tony Abbott’s attack on workers. The issues workers marched for included cuts to wages, conditions and rights at work, slashing Medicare, cuts to pension and superannuation, cutting community services and the scrapping of penalty rates.
