Ambulance officers and firefighters took their campaign to the streets of Bundaberg yesterday with a rally in the Community Safety Minister’s electorate. About 80 emergency service workers took part in the protest at Anzac Park, the latest stage in an ongoing campaign against government cutbacks. For the first time ever, ambos and firies united recently, mounting a joint campaign against Campbell Newman’s attempts to downgrade Queensland emergency services. The B105 Street Team caused a bit of excitement recently at Auskids Early Learning Centre and Victoria Point Childcare Centre in Brisbane. The Street Team came along to support the Big Steps campaign for improving quality childcare. Kids had a great time with games, competitions and giveaways. B105 will be visiting a number of centres each week – look out for them at your centre.
Recently, the Premier sent United Voice State Secretary, Gary Bullock, a handwritten note, pleading with him to tell school cleaners and teachers’ aides that their jobs won’t be contracted out during the life of the current EB agreements.
