Concern over proposed changes to Industrial Relations Act

United Voice, who represent 30,000 Queensland workers, has expressed concern over proposed changes to Industrial Relations laws. The newly elected Government plans to implement a number of amendments to current legislation in the coming weeks. Minister gives Ambulance Officers a commitment to tackle problems in the sector

Ambulance Officers reported a positive meeting with the Minister for Policing and Community Services this morning. Minister Jack Dempsey, who is a former Police Officer, listened to the concerns of Officers and said he had a good understanding of the difficulties they face on the ground on a daily basis. Big Steps flash mob surprises shoppers

Shoppers on Queen Street Mall received quite a surprise on Friday afternoon when members of United Voice organised a flash mob. A group dressed in the union’s maroon t-shirts performed a routine to the 70’s classic ‘Bus stop’, changing the words to highlight the ‘Big Steps in early childhood education and care’ campaign.
