The state governments' new industrial relations laws are an unfair attack on our conditions, on our right to dignity and fairness at work, and our right to organise in our unions. United Voice members will resist them and campaign to change the laws by changing the Government. When John Howard announced similar laws in 2005, the union movement campaigned for more than two years to remove the Government so we could bring back fair and balanced laws that supported the rights of working people. With the support of union members we will do this again.
We will take every opportunity to highlight the LNP Governments attacks on our rights, we will engage politicians and members of the community, and we will win. As long as we are prepared to stand up against them, bad laws never survive long.
You can be involved in the campaign against these laws by signing the pledge to commit to any political or industrial action that your industry committee (made up of school cleaner and teacher aide United Voice delegates) decides is needed. Take the pledge now below.
