The recent ballot held to endorse taking industrial action resulted in an overwhelming “YES” vote for both school cleaners and teacher aides.
Thousands of education members participated in the ballot with outstanding results:
- 95% of teacher aides voted to endorse industrial action; and
- 92% of school cleaners voted to endorse industrial action.
School cleaners and teacher aides have shown that the time for lip service is well and truly over.
By endorsing industrial action if necessary, United Voice education members are standing up and demanding improvements to their conditions and seeking recognition for the important roles they play in the education of Queensland state school students.
You have shown that:
- You won’t accept DoE failure to address priority issues for teacher aides and school cleaners.
- You are serious about fair pay and conditions for all teacher aide and school cleaner members.
The Industrial Commission has approved the ballot outcomes so that we are ready and able to notify protected action if the need arises.
Get on board, get active and demand the respect and recognition you deserve!
