Teacher Aide Enterprise Bargaining - Notice of Ballot Authorising Industrial Action
Teacher Aide and School Cleaner Network meetings being held across the state are endorsing support for taking industrial action if the Department continues to reject the key improvements being sought in enterprise bargaining negotiations.
To date, the Department has rejected your claims around career progression, immediate relief and improved ADO arrangements. Instead they are seeking changes to maximisation arrangements to "better balance" operational requirements at the school level.
Given the strong show of support from teacher aides to stand up and fight for improvements and no backward step on maximisation, we will be undertaking a formal ballot of all teacher aide members commencing on Wednesday, 22 August 2018. This electronic ballot is a formal step that is required under the Industrial Relations Act where you will be asked to approve a range of possible actions. Getting a broad range of actions approved by ballot means we will have lots of options should it become necessary to take industrial action after your agreement expires on Friday, 31 August 2018.
The ballot will open on Wednesday, 22 August 2018 and will close on Wednesday, 29 August 2018. Keep an eye out for an SMS with the link through to the ballot form. All United Voice teacher aides need to vote in this ballot.
