The union representing brewery workers is ramping up calls for XXXX to guarantee local jobs, launching a number of public actions to show the iconic company how much its beer means to Queenslanders.
United Voice spokesperson Damien Davie said the union would not stop until XXXX gave a rock solid guarantee that jobs and the legendary brewery would be kept local.
“Today, we’re dropping a massive banner down the side of Milton Road where close to 50,000 vehicles pass through every day, calling on management to keep XXXX on home turf,” Mr Davie said.
“Tomorrow, we’ll be out in force talking to punters going to the first Broncos home game where they take on the North Queensland Cowboys.
“We’ll have moving billboards circling Suncorp Stadium, flyers and merchandise ready to go for up to 53,000 fans attending the big game.
“XXXX are a major sponsor of both the Broncos and the Cowboys, so we know fans will feel strongly about ensuring jobs and the brewery stay here in Queensland alongside our beloved footy teams.
“Our activities around the iconic brewery will be matched with an ongoing online campaign, leading up to around 100 XXXX workers taking industrial action later this month.
“We need all Queenslanders – whether you’re a Broncos, Cowboys or Titans supporter – to get behind our workers when they take action.
“We are sending a clear message to XXXX management that we need to keep XXXX on home turf.”Back to News
